Get answers to common questions about Inflamed Follicles.
By delivering controlled thermal energy to the hair bulb, the laser weakens and reduces hair thickness and number. This decreases ingrown hairs and irritation, lowering follicle inflammation and recurring infections over multiple sessions.
Most clients report mild warmth, snapping or stinging during treatment. Topical numbing and cooling technologies improve comfort. Sensation varies by area and individual sensitivity; our technicians adjust settings to minimize discomfort.
Results vary by hair density and skin type, but most patients need four to eight sessions spaced four to eight weeks apart. Some may require additional maintenance treatments for lasting control of inflamed follicles.
Laser significantly reduces the risk of future follicle infections by decreasing hair thickness and ingrown hairs, but permanent prevention isn’t guaranteed. Periodic maintenance and proper skin care further lower recurrence for long-term improvement.
Ideal candidates have recurrent razor bumps, inflamed follicles, and coarse or curly hair. We evaluate active infections, keloid history, and skin type during consultation to ensure safety; some conditions may require prior medical treatment before laser.
Aftercare includes avoiding heat, hot tubs, and strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours, skipping waxing or plucking, and shielding treated skin from sun. Use gentle cleansers and prescribed topical antibiotics or soothing creams if recommended.
